What is your tummy telling you?

Do you ever notice bloating, fatigue, heartburn, water retention, hives, anxiety, digestive issues, or stomach pains after a meal? If so, your body is trying its best to tell you that you ate something that you shouldn’t have. Yet how many of you think nothing of it? The body is smart and will give you signals when consuming something that it doesn’t tolerate. If you feel like shit after eating a bowl of ice cream, maybe you shouldn’t eat ice cream, right? But many people lack the awareness of connecting what they ate and how they feel. For months I lived with symptoms of stomach pains and water retention before finding I had an intolerance to dairy products. Even to this day I’m finding foods/ingredients that my body doesn’t process well. Just last week I found out artificial sweeteners are another ingredient added to that list of food intolerances.

The solution to avoiding stomach and digestive issues? Pay attention to how you feel and how your body reacts to eating certain foods. Some of the most common food intolerances include dairy, gluten, soy, nuts and eggs. Even highly processed, packaged foods, artificial sweeteners may upset your stomach so be aware of the signals your body is giving. Eat whole natural foods, include a variety of vegetables in your diet, and be sure to consume healthy natural fats as well. All of these things will improve your gut health and will result in more energy, less inflammation and bloating, improved digestion, healthier skin and hair, better physical performance in the gym, and accelerated fat loss and muscle growth.
