WORKING WITH SARAH

I’ve trained with Sarah for over 5 years. I love her ability to structure my training sessions to provide me with the right amount of challenge. She is very focused and knowledgeable. If my personal limitations prevent me from doing a particular exercise, Sarah is able to instantly modify the exercise enabling me to do a the exercise and achieve a similar outcome. Sarah recently became certified as a yoga instructor and I now piggyback weekly yoga on to one of my training sessions. I greatly appreciate Sarah’s scheduling flexibility with scheduling as it helps with my travel schedule and unavoidable conflicts.

ABOUT THE GYM

Finding time to workout as a father of two boys can be difficult. That’s why I take advantage of Xcel’s 24-hour access by getting to the gym by 4:30 am each morning. By going in the morning, I get my exercise while the family sleeps. I also love being able to start my day with a workout. Whether it’s weight training or a run, I try to make sure I do something daily. I just feel so much better and have so much more energy when I finish. People always ask me how I motivate myself to get out of bed that early. I simply tell them that’s it’s just routine for me; I feel kind of off if I miss a workout. I started going early about 7 years ago and have never looked back. Right now I’m training for my first marathon and having a convenient gym 1 mile from my house is amazing. I can still get 4 miles in and a quick 20 mins worth of weights. It’s perfect. You can also tell Curt cares for his clients and is always happy to answer a question or help out. I’m very happy I joined Xcel! -Casey

WORKING WITH DAVID

Xcel Fitness is an awesome place to train. It has great equipment, is always clean and organized, (even at the end of a busy day.) The gym is open 24 hours a day, which is useful if you have young kids that make a regular schedule difficult to maintain. Furthermore, my experience with other members has been fantastic. Whether I was getting a workout in at 5 AM on a Monday or 9 PM on a Friday, everyone has been extremely considerate and friendly. Curt and company run a tight ship. Personal Training: I came to David Iten as a 40 year old dad who needed to gain functional strength and avoid any injuries that would hold up my progress. As a beginner to resistance training, David Iten was the perfect fit. Straight-shooting, knowledgeable and motivational. Working with David was a pleasure from the start. We met for an initial strength and mobility assessment and discussed my goals and availability. David didn’t hard-sell me, just explained what his plan would be based upon what I wanted to achieve. David would be extremely useful for a more experienced trainer as well – his passion for training and nutrition is limitless. A simple question about training regimens or technique would prompt a thoughtful and multi-faceted response from David (all while he’s counting your reps and making sure you’re nailing your form.) I can’t recommend Xcel Fitness and training with David enough. He increased my confidence in the gym, built my strength from top to bottom and was always fun to be around. The gym, atmosphere and staff are top notch.

WORKING WITH CURT

I’ve been training with Curt since day one of Xcel Fitness and he has helped me achieve everything we initially talked about. I had been working with another trainer at a different gym for several years, but was plagued with lifting injuries and my gains had plateaued. While working with Curt I’ve improved every key measurement area including increased strength, increased muscle mass, and improved endurance without any injuries! Curt’s training approach is tailored to my goals and he provides daily inspiration to train hard, eat clean, and live strong. My son Trevor, an already fit Army Lieutenant, started working with Curt a month ago so he could out lift me; it hasn’t happened yet, but I’m sure Curt will help him surpass me soon ;).
